The first thing that struck me when I met Duane was how shy he seemed to be. I still haven't really gotten to know him much yet, but from the looks of the stuff he's posted on his facebook AND his awesome dance moves, I'd have to concur that he is as he describes himself : fun, crazy and unique.

If music is your first love, what is your second?
My second greatest love would be photography. Unknown to many, I'm actually very interested in the hobby and have a DSLR myself. I started taking photos a few years ago and finally bought a Nikon last December. If singing doesn't work out for me, I'd probably be a wedding or fashion photographer. (nice one!)
Secret Single Behaviour : What do you do on your own that no one knows about?
When I'm bored at home and I have absolutely nothing better to do, I go to youtube and start learning dance moves off the computer screen. That's where I learned the 'Bottle Pop' (OMG Mr Pussycat Doll much?) I've also learnt Single Ladies (Beyonce moves! Duane you gotta show me this soon!), random Pussycat Dolls dances through youtube too.

Amira may be the youngest female contestant, but Duane is the absolute youngest contestant in this year's Idol. Duane has definitely got something to be proud of making it this far at just 16 years old.
Duane's rendition of Duffy's 'Mercy' at his first audition was so unexpected it woke me up. He had rhythm (as is apparent from his dance moves - that boy can move!) and soul. I thought he sang 'Mercy' like an old pro.
What Duane has going for him are his vocals, his personality and his 'story'. He's the underdog that audiences love to support, and they have reason to - the boy can sing.
And from what I've seen the last few times we've met, he has a wicked quirky sense of humour. He wore a teeshirt that said 'Kill TV' - ironic right, considering he's on a reality tv show :) And I loved how he said "I think I'm a black man trapped in a yellow boy's body!"
