Challenger from Ep2 - challenged Jaiho! and takes their podium spot.
With a moniker like C-Murda, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were about to meet a night club bouncer or a big time gangsta rappa. But the young gentleman (and I have to say, this young man is really quite the well-bred softspoken gentleman) who bears this nick is petite and affable - very NOT murderish in any way shape or form lor. By the way, his real name is Charles Lee.
How'd you get the nickname C-Murda (some more the spelling so havoc type!)?
Its a nickname that my first instructor gave me and it just stuck. He told me before that you can't come up with your own nickname, it has to be given to you and this is what he gave me.
So what are your talents?
Dancing. My style is more free-styling, but popping-based. I've been dancing for pretty much 9 years, and have been popping for the last 5 years. Funk styles are pretty big, I do mostly popping and house dances, like Salsa.
Who will you be challenging tonight?
Probably Elvis or Jaiho. I'll probably go with the more physical performers, not so much singers.
Charles, I mean, C-Murda (I feel like I need to have a mic and add 'echo' and a deep voice every time I type that!), was kind enough to show me a few moves in the dark corridor of B5 where the Challengers were hidden away, but let me tell you, it was nowhere near the kind of moves he pulled when he actually got on stage!

To the cameraman - Pls don't switch the camera to the judges or the backstage when C-Murda is performing...we viewers at home cannot watch his Full performance !!! miniscreen their expressions at the bottom right will do. We viewers at home could not view the "WOW" moment except watching the judges' dropped jaw scene :P
C-Murda should stay in the competition. Judges' have stamps covered their eyes. R&M is good but not good enough. Judges should judge the 2 performances and not their last performance. To maintain at he's peak is not always possible. What we are looking for is creativity, entertaining and quality of performance.

ReplyDeleteWTF is wrong with OMG judges? Well, C-Murda might not be the best talented guy out there, but in my opinion, he is definitely better than those R&M guys. Judges, in case you guys don’t know, we might just be looking at the person who might just be the best in ‘pop and lock’ dancing in Singapore. I feel like OMG is a talents goes down to waste show, so i am not watching till C-Murda is back. Btw, the song he dance to on 8/9 is a Japanese song, ‘Umi no Mieru Machi’. Crap. sucks that C-murda is out. For every OMG! show which is screen i'll definately rmb him. I find that the judges comments are ridiculous, he doesn't need to perform a better act when his previous act was already at such high-standard. If Dan Thompson can be called back as a wildcard by the judge, i totally don't understand why C-murda cant. I dunno if the judges considered their actions in calling back dan as since the "why not" this contender can be a wildcard question will definately surface.

ReplyDeleteDan Thomson step dancing is only new thing at show, but nothing new to talk with my friends, now I know why my friends like to watch channel 8 drama, because channel 5 has no new element to offer beside inported shows.
Singapore Idol of channel 5 is not popular in Singapore. so many better original song singers in the worlds, i notice that mosttalent show winner is always a singer, why 5 is not exciting because the show has no originality, copycat can never excite us, we want new and original show like c murda brought to us, world class poper, locker and glider on stage, if few dancers circle around playing hide and seek like kids can win,this is follow the crowd mentality but not originality,something must be wrong of the programme, I like break dancing performance, it is one of my choice but c murda poping is much more exciting to see, it is my best choice of OMG, if you do not agree, try to move like c murda you will appreciate this kind of modern art.
Apparently, if you want to win this, just bring in something damn new at towards the end of the show and there you have it. A spot in the podium.

This competition gave me a chance to know one another better. I hope to work with C murda one day and perform together. This com seen like making enemy with other contender but to us, our main aim is to win 50000 friends. Which includes u Ann everyone especially C murda. He's a passionate teacher, friendly & open hearted. We were together in the lift on the way home that very first night. He's very nice and we talk a bit.

I really feel that you have disgraced C Murda by using all the vulgarities. Please compare C Murda with other contenders too, and not only Rhythm 'N' Moves. Even if they did noy kick him out, is he able to stay on and compete with the rest like luminiq crew, vertical dancers, desert roses and danny Koh. Like I say, C Murda is good, no doubt. Please do not make him look bad just because of this competition. He deserves a good name in the performing arts field. Thanks.

Please provide ONLY valuable comments, be it good or bad, so that all contenders can benefit and improve on their performance next time. For those who do not dare to put your name when criticising, I think you know the reason why you dare not do so. If you want to show your best support to your idol, just leave your words of encouragement to him. By badmouthing others will only result in more and more people to dislike your idol. Is this the result you want? Although I support my idol, I will not be despicable to criticse others. Go check out other contenders' blog. I will give good comments if they are really good. If not, I will provide suggestions to improve. What I say is truly from my heart and I dare to leave my name. I am irritated because I really can't believe some fans just say whatever they want, claiming that they are supporting their idols but in fact, they are destroying their idols' name. I really feel sad for this idol. I hope all fans, including myself can reflect on our ways of supporting our idols. ReplyDeleteI think Jill! Based on the situation, she is the hot favourite for both the judges and her ultimate supporters. I think the game is about who is rich, who wins! If there is better challenger, then it will be another story.

I think its unfair because people with more talent and not so much supporters or supporters with money would lose out. But i guess thats just life. OMG format is just plain lousy.

ReplyDeleteI remember C-Murda in the days back in Jan 2009 when he and his friend come by Saturday at Esplanade underpass for a dance, these guys are awesome and well bred dancers and great guys too!, they even shared their playlists with me and also encouraged my dancing!
