Happy OMG Day!
Good Morning y'all it's OMG Day!
And from tonight, OMG goes live every week! The pressure is on! Live shows are known to be scary stressful for everyone working on the show - so good luck to the cast and crew for tonight!
Tonight's theme is Come On Baby Light My Fire! If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check this out (sorry I only have the 'tomorrow' version which played the whole of yesterday).
Tonight's guest judge is none other than the gorgeous Michelle Chia. She of the beautiful hair and lithe body despite a gazillion food shows under her belt (how does she do it?). I absolutely love her, I love that she's effectively bilingual and switches it up between the two languages with so much ease. The one show she did that really moved me was the series about helping less fortunate families improve their living conditions - its called Renovaid. Check out Michelle's full bio here.
Tickets! Tickets! Lelong!!
Now that we're in Elimination Rounds, the studio is certainly filling up. So if you want tickets to the show, please email omg@mediacorp.com.sg ahead of time, just in case.
As mentioned in earlier blog entries, the 'Challenger' element on the show has and always will be there. This is a key element of OMG. The only episodes that don't have Challengers are the first episode (where 10 Contenders got whittled down to 8) and Episode 7, which is the first episode of the Elimination Rounds (our Top 8 performed with Collaborators last week).
Every week ONE Challenger....
From tonight onwards, there will be a new Challenger (just one) coming in every week to 'rock the boat'. Making it that much harder for the Top 8 to keep their positions. In fact, at the start of tonight's show, it'll be Top 7 + 1 Challenger. And next week onwards, two will go home every week.
Too complicated? Lost you at 'Challenger'? Aiya, just follow the show week on week lah. Don't worry about the mechanics so much - just remember TWO things :
1. Vote to keep your favourite in.
2. Email omg@mediacorp.com.sg if you want to be a Challenger.
That's it for now, look out for my mid-morning (circa 10am?) post on tonight's Challenger - that's right - I gots the low-down on them for ya later! In the meantime, catch them on Class 95 at around 9am this morning to find out who they are!
xoxo, s.

Happy OMG Day!
Its Wednesday, a.k.a. OMG! Day!

Episode 5 is on tonight, and if you've seen the new spate of tv trailers released over the weekend and on Monday, you'll have had a sneak peak of 'Nadia' the Japanese belly dancer, and David Lin singing "Hallelujah" - has anyone hazarded a guess as to who challenged him? Here are those two trailers in case you haven't seen them ...
This is Nadia (Akiko on the profile list)
David singing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" ...
More OMG! news...
A little birdie just told me some 'confirmed' names of guest judges coming on board for the rest of the season. Take it with a pinch of salt ya, cos in the production world, things are never confirmed until you actually SEE it on tv :) (Case in point, the huge American Idol judge ding-dong - J. Lo on/off, Steven Tyler on/off, Kara fired, Randy hired, Ellen gone. WTH right?)

So back on the OMG front, some of the names that came up as 'confirmed' were Michelle Chia (gorgeous and speaks well - pass!), Suhaimi (been in the entertainment business long time, sings, comedian, radio personality - pass!) and Mark Lee (funny man, host, definitely worked his way up from bottom - respeK!- pass!). Some other names whispered to me were theatre names George Chan and Sebastian Tan, as well as Kit Chan. Kit would definitely be a huge boon to the show if she does come.
Anyone you'd like to see come guest judge on OMG!?

Personally I would love to see Kumar on the show, and Li Lin and Uncle Ken. Kumar just cos he's such a performer and he's quick witted and hilarious - would make for good comments. Li Lin because she's a dancer and an experienced performer. Uncle Ken just coz I'd love to hear his take on this whole thing. I think he and FD would have a lot to talk about.
OMG, lets have The Noose's Barbarella on the show - no credibility whatsoever but what fun! Michelle Chong would have to clone herself to do this :) But oh what fun!
MORE CHALLENGERS PLEASE STEP UP ...
In other OMG! news, I've been told that there are gonna be auditions held at *scape tonight at 7pm. So I'm headed down there to see what that's all about and hopefully spot some really awesome upcoming Challengers for the show :)
A different little birdie told me that there's a fire hula hooper in the mix - what the? how do you hula a hoop that's on fire? This I gotta see. I've been given permission to grab pics ... so follow me on Twitter for sneaks tonight! (But don't forget to watch the show - I know y'all can multitask right?)
Happy OMG Day everyone! Don't forget to catch the show TONIGHT, 8pm on Channel 5.
xoxo, s.
ps. Btw, if you're not at the *scape auditions today, but would still love to come on the show and be a challenger - just email omg@mediacorp.com.sg !
