OMG with an SPG

Barbarella Auditions for Channel 5's One Moment Of Glory :)

Notorious 'President of the SPGs' - Barbarella Chanel Posh Beckham Cruz etc - has 'auditioned' for OMG.

This crazy character from The Noose is just hilarious and one of my favourite incarnations from the very talented Michelle Chong (I absolutely love Leticia The Maid!).

Anyway this vid was just too good to not share, here are some screen caps to whet your appetite!
In the 5-minute clip, Barbarella talks borrs (balls) and shows off her 'juggring' skills in a bid to show off her 'tarrent' to an OMG producer.

Check out the link to xinmsn.com below to see the full video, and fingers-crossed Barbarella makes it to one of the episodes of the show! I would love to see B.B. See and other Noose characters join in throughout the season, somehow. I wonder if any stand-up comedians have auditioned?

Whee so excited about tomorrow, preparing my list of questions - gonna get to meet the judges and host for OMG. If you have questions you'd like to ask them (except their identity of course, cos that's under wraps for now), do drop me an email at summerrstv@live.com or post the query in the comments box below! Imma ask 'em and get back to ya!

Enjoy the vid!

xoxo, s.

ps. Wanna see if you can figure out who OMG's host and judges are?

I'll be tweeting/twitpiccing from tomorrow's 'hush-hush' photoshoot to give you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at them (or maybe their feet/hands/accessorries etc, everything but the face which i'm not allowed to reveal).

Channel 5's OMG - One Moment Of Glory

Singapore Got Talent?
That's such a loaded question right! Well its a good thing then that that isn't the name of Channel 5's new talent reality show (which is loosely based on America's Got Talent).

Based on the trailers I've seen on TV thus far, it seems a little dubious but producers have assured me that they have uncovered quite a few gems. The glossy launch trailer was awesome, I loved the fire eater/sword swallower etc. The trailers featuring the actual auditions - another thing altogether.

(Actually, I kinda wanna see more of the Hubei-Hebei belly dancing girls and that cute Taiwanese guy whose talent they don't reveal!)

Ooh, but sidetrack first.....Hi all! How've you been? Sorry the blog's been dead a while, I figured if I didn't have special access to stuff that might interest you, no point just reviewing shows you've already seen right? No value add there :)

But OMG guess what! My old producer friends at MediaCorp are keen to gimme a crew pass for their new reality show comin' up this August called One Moment Of Glory :) (OMG for short or course).

If you have no idea what I'm talking about check out the videos at the show's FB page.

Its basically Channel 5's own version of America's Got Talent. Basically any one with a 'talent' (and this is SO open to interpretation) can audition for the show and try to impress the judges. Somewhere along the line, viewers get a say too via voting.

Here's what I know so far :

1. The show premieres on National Day (most likely right after the National Day Parade)

2. It runs til like, November.

3. The winner walks away with $50,000 CASH. C.A.S.H. <-- this I like, no nonsense like half in cash, half in sponsored goodies etc etc. Its 50,000 smackerrooonies! Sigh, I can buy Nicole Richie's entire House of Harlow AND Winter Kate line and still have some leftover for a Balenciaga. Ok maybe not, but enough for a Kate Spade at least. Ok I digress.

Here are some pics taken from the OMG facebook page.

Quite a lot of belly baring talent uncovered (omg that pun was SO unintended)....

D'you see a trend? :) Don't worry, I'm sure more than just belly dancers auditioned for the show...

This guy looks like he's a stunt biker... should be interesting to watch...

I love watching breakdancers, so I hope this fler was good and made it on to the show...

I have seen this erm 'toy'/'gadget' on talent shows before, but I have no idea what its called - anyone?

Ah yes, and no talent show audition would be complete without at least one MJ impersonator trying out...

I hope this dummy has good jokes. The talent may be voice-throwing, but the act is only as good as its best punchline...OMG just realised the dummy's a girl.....oh.kay. This I gotta see.

Anyway, I haven't seen any audition footage or met any contestants, I just got the call about the show a few days ago, and after looking at what's online and what's on air, I gotta say, I'm curious :)

I have been invited to tag along to a photoshoot for the show's judges/hosts next Tuesday (13/7), no idea who they are or how many of either there will be, but rest assured I'll be tweeting/twitpiccing, so follow me on Twitter to see if you can figure out (shhh! apparently its secret til dunno what date) who's judging and who's hosting the show.

If you've followed me from Idol days, you can expect more of the same kind of updates for OMG, lots of behind-the-scenes pics, videos of your favourite contestants, backstage gossip and of course, you'll get 'em as quickly as I can put them up.

Do feel free to add comments if you've got ideas of what you'd like to see on this blog for OMG.

Ah, its good to be back blogging! More updates to come!

xoxo, s.

ps. Can you believe its been a year since we took that Idol journey with Airi, Sylvia, Tabby, Charles, Faizal, Duane, Mae, Farhan, Malaque, Nurul, Syltra, Amira, MJ et al? This time last year, I was at bootcamp, watching the Top 100 go through de riguers of becoming a star. And now Airi's album is out - have you heard it? Its awesome! :)

pps. I'll be doing some housekeeping on the blog so don't worry if you see all the Singapore Idol stuff being moved around, I'll make sure all the links are set up so you can still go find them if you're feeling nostalgic.
