2 Idol Birthday Cakes & The Folks Love This
All dressed up like kiddies!

This is the ad for next week's theme 'My Folks Love This'. They all look so hilariously adorable. Check out my behind-the-scenes pics of the Idols when they were preparing for this shoot. Plus don't miss the trailer - probably running now on Channel 5. I haven't seen it myself!
Anyway, apart from that I have two vids to share. Yesterday was Mae's and Charles' birthdays (29th Oct)! So on Wednesday night, the Idol family celebrated by bringin' out yummilicious cakes and candles (cake was yummy, candles...not so much).
This first vid was taken before the show (around 7pm), upstairs in the B3 changing room. :) The cake is from the Promo Guys - Byron and Suresh - Super MOIST Chocolate Cake from Secret Recipe (all hail this fab Malaysian chain - the cheesecake is seriously to.die.for! woot! Suddenly feel so proud to be Malaysian LOL!) Do ignore the rubbish banter going on and just enjoy this sneak peek into the girls' changing room! *wink*
This next vid is shot in between the Performance and Results shows. Around 9pm. The cake is from the Production team. Also a lovely chocolate cake :) Yum! Check out Nurul's antics - aigh, we miss that girl - she was definitely the funny bone in the group!
Anyway, thats all for tonight...good night, am off to Zzzzz...
xoxo, s.
ps. Oh yes, one more for the road....super random vid recorded in the lift on the way up to B2 (Dick Lee wanted to see the Idols before the Results Show started), so just simply record la...watch and have a lil laugh at how seriously random your Idols are!

9pm : Show's Over - Keep Voting!
Its 9pm, and the show's over - how did you think the Top 8 faired? Do you agree/disagree with what the judges had to say?
In the meantime while you ponder all that, don't forget to keep those fingers moving and vote vote vote! Every vote counts and every vote makes a difference on whether your Idol stays or goes home tonight.
Check the post below for voting details.
Don't forget to tune in to the Results Show later at 10pm. Its my weekly anxiety-rollercoaster ride. But it'll be a great show too - the Idols will be performing 'I Just Can't Get Enough' (the cover version by The Saturdays) for tonight's group song ... as well as a look at the finished Burger King music video featuring the song 'Sweet Dreams' by the Eurythmics!
Oh yes, there's also a special guest star performing tonight - its so Top Secret, even the Idols don't know about it! Sssshhh!
Plus, if all thats not enough, follow my tweets/twitpics live from backstage at the studio right now.
xoxo, s.
ps. Come back here at 10pm for a sneak peek post on next week's theme. :) - the pics are hilarious! Must see!

Matt's Vid : Charity CarWash @ Dempsey Hill
Hot. Sweaty. But so much fun!
.....and all for a good cause!
Check out this great vid by Matt (www.matt.sg) who was the roving entertainment reporter onsite at last Saturday's Channel 5 Charity Carwash event. Got pro mic and all - go Matt!
For those of you who frequent the Idol shows, you'll know Matt as the wubby who warms up the crowd before the show starts and keeps you entertained between commercial breaks and that hour-long break between Performance and Results shows.
Anyway, check out this vid - he interviews the Polo Boys, Michelle Chia, Claire Jedrek, Jade Seah, the FHM girls (v. boomz) and the two Idol teams - the current Top 8 and 5 idol alums from Season 2 (the guy in green is Levin, Top 24!). Also check out great impromptu singing by both teams, with beats supplied by our very own Charles. :)
(if you cannot tahan - idols are at 06:20 :))
In summary, there were 3 rounds of competition :
First Class ($695) vs Fighting Spiders ($856)
FHM Girls ($1,762) vs Polo Boys ($1,772) *wow, beaten by $10!
SI Season 3 Top 8 ($1,110) vs SI Season 2 Alum ($675)
Congratulations to all the celebrity teams for a job well done!
Er, but to which charity does the $$$ go...I'm not quite sure....I shall go find out pfft! LOL!
Thanks to matt.sg for the great vid! :)
Now time to buckle down and get ready for Idol Day tomorrow wheeeee! Mambo Mania here we come! Right now, your Top 8 Idols are busy fine-tuning their performances tonight at their all-night vocal training session with Ann and Indra.
xoxo, s.
UPDATE : Where does the $$$ go?
The money raised goes to 3 charities :
Operation Smiles (which is Class 95's adopted charity), HCA Hospice Care and Rainbow Centre - Yishun Park School (both of which are MediaCorp's adopted charities).
UPDATE #2 : Official Blogger Iz's Carwash Music Video
In case you missed it cos Iz uploaded this to YouTube on Monday, here's his lil music video - shot and edited by Iz himself ;) lov the song choice!

Charity CarWash @ Dempsey Hill
Workin' at the carwash....
85% pictorial post....:) Cos a picture speaks a thousand words LOL!

10% : Today, your Idol Top 8 pitched in to raise money in a charity carwash organised by MediaCorp. Broken up into teams, they were up against other teams like The Polo Boys (who raised the highest amount of cash) and Idol Alums, from season 2 - Nurul Mydeen, Paul Twohill, Gayle Nerva, Joakim Gomez and one more guy in green but I couldn't recognise him, only saw him for a split second! (Will check and get back to you... :P so sorry! - was it Norman?)
85% : Here are the pics!

5% : Just got a text from Promo Guru Suresh, the highest bid the Idols got was $500 from a fan of Mae's - the fan's Daddy paid the $$ without hesitation apparently - good on ya Sir for helping out the charity! :)
Well done Idols - you worked hard today, and guess what folks - TOMORROW (SUNDAY), is the first 'off' day the Idols will get since Bootcamp! Nothing scheduled - it says 'REST DAY' on the schedule ! Woot!
Have a great Sunday my LODIs!
xoxo, s.
ps. A very special word of thanks to the fans on facebook who posted their 'carwash pics' which I 'borrowed' here in the post - Siti Rahayu and Sariah Aiera. All credits to those pics belong to them.
pps. Idol off day = Blogger's off day! = DOUBLE WOOT! :)

Get to know your DISCO!
Get ready to shimmy & shake and point those fingers in the air!

Sylvia - I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston
hrm, do I see a pattern emerging? Does SylSyl like WhitWhit?
Faizal - That Thing You Do by the Wonders
Very mainstream, pseudo oldie, catchy - very typical Faizal choice :)
Tabby - Ain't Nobody by Chaka Khan
Typical Tabby - diva to the last drop :) Bring on the Chaka Khan hair girlfriend! Just make sure it doesn't come out like this :)
Malaque - Last Dance by Donna Summer
Ooooh nice one...this one always gets me up and dancing!
Charlie - Take On Me by A-Ha
Classic Mambo hit... :) This one gets everyone pointing to the sky!
Duane - Tainted Love by Pussycat Dolls
Very sexy tune.... I also think.... Full Monty hahahaha!
Sezairi - Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry
Awesome choice...lay down n boogie n play dat funky music til ya' die! (I first heard that line in a NKOTB song)
Mae - Kiss by Prince
OMG, love this song - it always reminds me of that scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts is in the tub, up to her neck in bubbles, listening to her walkman and singing to this song...baadly! LOL!
Took me ages to find the video - cos when I did a youtube search it gave me some weird japanese movie??? Anyway here is the link because there is no embed option at this site :) Do have a look and enjoy this iconic Prince song 'Kiss'.
Happy weekend everyone, sit back, bone up on next week's tunes and break out your dancin' shoes cos we gonna mambo next Idol Day! Woot!

Idols Burger King Music Video Shoot
It Just Tastes Better!
...and it really does - today's french fries were superb - am swearing off McD's fries for a while cos I watched that vid where it doesn't biodegrade even after 2 months - worrisome can?
But like Tabby said, she staved off fast food for 2 weeks after watching the McDocumentary (can't remember its name!) and then slowly-slowly got back into it, and now, its like it never happened! LOL!
ANYWAY...here are some pics of the Idols at this morning's shoot at Great World City's Burger King outlet. The BK people were real sweet, they provided the Top 8 + crew + Iz with loads of drinks and makan to while the waiting time away ....although the executives looked a bit stressed...
I love the pic where they all wear the crowns - Idol Royalty :)
haha, check out Idol writer Clarabelle being a calefare as a BK staffmember too. She and Mae were SO in character they decided to clear tables! Apparently some kid even asked them for a straw. Mae's name tag actually had her name on it. Sylvia's however, said Nurse Low :)
This is a twitpic from @siproducer when the Idols moved on to shoot the second part of the music video (I guess where the 'audition' and transform into the IDOLS we know and love?) at Caldecott Hill...
Shoot Concept :
The Top 8 play ordinary people who share the same dream, the dream of becoming an Idol.
Roles :
Sezairi : Pilot
Sylvia : Nurse (her tag says Nurse Low - LOL!)
Malaque : Traveller/Backpacker
Mae : Burger King staffmember
Charles : Chef
Duane : Businessman
Tabitha : Teacher (the outfit looks surprisingly similar to Jade Seah's teacher togs in First Class!)
Faizal : Fashion designer/stylist (he even has BLING!)
When I first asked Faizal who he was playing he said 'Dick Lee' and I almost fell for it cos he had the lil kerchief sticking out of his pocket in purple and a snazzy jacket and even a scarf plus huge bling ring! Check it out!
Can't wait to see the final cut of the music video - they'll be singing the 1983 Grammy Nominated song by The Eurythmics called 'Sweet Dreams' (this is the same year MJ's Beat It, Billie Jean and the album Thriller were nominated for Grammys).
Here's the vid of the song - so you know what it sounds like (and won't think they went all weird on ya - the song itself is weird to many - but I love its haunting melody, love Annie Lennox!)
"Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused...."
- kinda metaphorical about the entertainment industry right? Idols you have been warned ....
UPDATE :
Check out Official Blogger Iz's awesome BTS vid (he edited this himself k!) here...
xoxo, s.
ps. sorry peeps, post came out a lil late cos Blogger was down this afternoon - freaked me and like gazillions around the world - help forum was flooded - turned out there was a power outage somewhere in the US east coast. Oh well, better late than never! ON to the review!
pps. I remember the name of the McDoc now...its 'Supersize Me!'
