Can Billy Baldwin Serena's father?
Too young looking? But all the same, eeeeeee, exciting! Here's a picture sneak peek, thanks to GG Insider, at whats to come on Gossip Girl when the series returns from its hiatus next week!
As of this pic, I can't imagine William Baldwin playing William van der Woodsen - he looks too young to have been to Kelly Rutherford's Lily Bass. Lily just looks way older (irl, Kelly's 42 while William is 46 - gosh when did he get this old?). But then again, its a blur-ish lo-res screen cap, we'll probably get to see him, wrinkles and all, come end April (his first appearance is set for April 26 in the U.S.), when his character will be forced to come out of hiding. (check out what he has to say about his role on GG here.)
As a refresher, the first half of Season 3 saw our favourite blonde-hair-in-the-wind heiress returning from a summer spent secretly hunting for her long lost dad with 'presumed-not-innocent' love interest Carter Basing. That relationship totally went down the toilet with a big flush, in typical Serena van der Woodsen style, and still zilch on the daddy front.
After a super long hiatus (feels just waaay too long), Imma juz waitin' to sink my teeth in to part deux of Season 3 - so many exciting story arcs... Chuck possibly meeting his mom who maybe didn't die, Chuck and Blair's relationship moving to another plane, Serena reuniting with her father and more interestingly, reuniting with Nate!
Gah, GG is scheduled to return this Monday March 8 in the U.S., and hopefully for us here in sweltering Singapore, on Tuesday March 9 or latest Wednesday March 10 - please oh please mio TV, don't fail us!
In the meantime, I'll just soak up Survivor, Amazing Race, American Idol and the Red Carpet coverage at Monday's Oscars....
ps. The Academy Awards will be on LIVE on Monday - I think Channel 5 and Star Movies will be carrying it. Before that, you can tune in to E! for live red carpet action with, I think, should be la, Ryan Seacrest. Can't wait to see the how the celebs will doll themselves up for what is arguably the biggest night of the year for them - red carpet at the Oscars trumps red carpets everywhere else!
