its IDOL DAY !!!

Happy Idol Day everyone!

After a 2 week break (not really a break for the Idols since they've been workin' hard every day since they were 'crowned Top 13') which felt like eternity for me (wasn't it weird that there was no Idol show last Idol Day/Wednesday? Weird rite? I almost didn't know what to do with myself!), the Top 13 have settled comfortably into their 'Spectacular' shoes and hopefully are ready to put on a 'Nothing-Less-Than-Spectacular' show for us tonight!

And just in time for the 'Spectaculars', comes a truly spectacular copy of 8days - the Idol issue. I LOVE IT! I luv it so much that I want to print that cover on a tee shirt and gift it to the Idols. But I'm broke from my 'princess party' expenditure, so we'll have to wait for the NEXT 8days cover.... *sorry LODIs*

Don't they all look so so so amazing? Every. Single. One of them!

Totally a must-have for every Idol (and non-Idol) fan out there because :

1. The Top 13 look fantabulouso!

2. Its jam-packed full of info even I didn't know ... Syltra, your chinese name is after Ann Kok?! (she told me her IC is registered only as Syltra Lee ..stupidly did not think of asking if she had an 'unregistered' chinese name - oi guitar goddess :), got malay or indian names or not?)

3. Each Idol has their own pin-up pic and profile (so you can simply tear out the page of your fave for your wall).

4. I have to say it again - the Top 13 look fantastic!

Here's my tribute to that amazing issue of 8Days (kow tow kow tow - you guys did such an amazing job). Top 13, you guys TOTALLY ROCKED DA SHOOT!

This is the vid I shot of them from my hiding place (on a mini balcony) at Que Pasa during the shoot. The directory and stylist of the shoot, Fong Fan, got them to jam :) very cool!

(The new profiles were just uploaded, sorry they took a little longer to hatch, I re-did them after the 8days issue came out cos I was so 'inspired' :) - I totally chucked out the old ones, so it took a while to 'rehatch' amidst all my cupcake baking).

ps. Oh, almost forgot, must give kudos to 8days for squeezing in ALL the Top 13 on the cover instead of the 2-page foldout cover like season 1, :) sigh, am looking at the cover again, so niiiiiiice. I likey! Dammit, MUST STOP sounding like freakish obsessed 8Days stalker again.

Congratulations & Spectacular 1

Congratulations to the Idol hopefuls that have made it through tonight! Welcome to the Spectaculars!

I'm still at Caldecott Hill so just a quick post to remind you that there will be no Idol next Wednesday, its that one crucial week where the Top 12 are photographed like mad for publicity pictures and filmed for promotional trailers etc. Its a very glam week to be in the Top 12 (also a very tiring one).

Next Tuesday, they've got a full day shoot at 8Days (thats right, 8Days!) and its for the cover of the mag! How awesome is that! The Top 12 get their very own glossy mag cover! Will be on site to give you an inside look via twitpic/twitter.

So anyway, the first Spectacular will be on Wednesday 23rd September.

The theme : Chart Toppers. This means the Top 12 can pick any chart topping song from 2000 to the present. And it applies to any of the big hit charts from American Top 40 to the Billboard charts and even the local charts. (Click here to get an idea of the songs you may be hearing, based on the US Billboard charts, click on years 2000 to 2009).

If you can't tahan being away from them for two whole weeks, you can catch the Top 12 at their first roadshow at Sembawang Shopping Centre on Saturday, 19th September, 3 - 4pm.

8Days a week....

This morning started like any other. Manic. I woke up late and panicked : it was 8am and I still had two kids to get ready for 'school' (PLAY school), one of which needed my accompaniment which meant I, too, had to haul ass to and get dressed!

But to my surprise, The Husband said he would take The Son to his toddler playgroup as it was Daddy's Week ... so I was suddenly left with a 'free' morning! I suddenly had 2 hours of ME time!

First instinct...head to Borders for my 8Days (loyal reader since forever, and super excited cos usually I have to wait til like 12noon or sometimes THURSDAY to get my hands on a copy!) and head for a nice breakfast somewhere, anywhere, with coffee! Wheee!

Was even happier when I saw who was on the cover - I've loved Ryan since Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place (yes THAT's the full, original title you people!) Waaaaaaay before HIMYM (Alamak...dont know...HIMYM = How I Met Your Mother, where have you been??), there was 2GAGAAPP <-- shortform here does NOT work)

While I indulged in my American breakfast at Coffee Club just outside Borders (so convenient mah!), I almost choked on my scrambled egg when I saw this!

NO, not the article (cos I expected them to do it sooner or later, Idol gossip wat), but the thing I circled in RED! Check it out....

How do I know its mine? Well, firstly, the day I took that screen capture, the number of messages on the Inbox was 5, plus, I had to black out the account holder's name (which you can't see in the pic cos well, 1. its blacked out and 2. pic quality is not too good la).

Awesome...8days is 'printing' my stuff....sort of. Perhaps they didn't take it from here, who knows what other sites are carrying this story or who supplied them with the pic. Even the Official Blogger borrowed the screen cap, then later edited and enlarged it (thus cropping off the telltale Inbox 5 bit haha!).

Ah who cares how it got there.... Still awesome. :)

Ahem, yes, as I was saying earlier, I love my 8days, and my first run through is always cover to cover, I read all the goss first and then the features later. Was flipping and flipping then my eye caught sight of this pic! And I thought ...hey this guy looks familiar ....why ah?

Ok, of course I know its HK actor Michael Tse. I loved the Ku Wak Chai series (Young & Dangerous) and he was in it. Died SUCH a tragic death (his character, not him duh!)...but anywayyyy....

He reminded me of someone...and I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Then, mid-way through my pedicure (I headed up to Snails - best sugar scrub pedicure EVER! - after breakkie) note to ALL : do not go up escalators while reading and holding onto a takeaway latte. Thank god the Wheelock curvy escalators move at a snail's pace - no pun intended, I suddenly realised who he reminded me of, ....it was someone in the Idol Top100!

Can you guess who? :)
