All clad in white and shiny shimmery stuff, Miko, Irene and Melissa really do look like angels on that single pole. But here's the thing, already with two people on the pole, it sways like there's wind. The girls make it look so easy to 'walk' up and down the pole but difficulty rating on this has got to be pretty high. A shaky/swaying pole (as opposed to the rock steady ones bolted to the ground in a dance studio) means its harder to stay up there and keep your balance. Adding one more person, what more a less experienced celebrity collaborator ... risky!
But they do it of course, because the Vertical Dancers are totally awesome with this kind of stuff. And they roped in Model/Blogger Melissa Faith Yeo to be their 3rd. A little bit about Melissa ...
If you're wondering why Melissa looks so familiar, its because she's been featured in tons of tv ads and print campaigns as a model. She's been on the cover of FHM and in numerous magazines. She's also had small parts on tv, take a look at her show reel and I'm sure you'll remember some of these ads.
How'd she end up on the pole? Apparently when producers were looking for a collaborator for the Vertical Dancers, the first name that came in was Ris Low. You all have seen the video I posted right? So that was out. This was followed by another high-profile name, Channel 8 hunk Nat Ho, who ended up not being able to do the show due to contractual obligations on a separate project.
We heard that Melissa got the call just a two weeks prior to the show and wow, if she can learn what she did in just two weeks, then RESPECT can! Vertical Dancers is probably the most challenging collaboration on the show, gotta be brave (and have damn strong inner thigh muscles) to take it on.
