Follow up on OMG Scandal

In case you missed it ....
...here's what came out in Friday's New Paper about the whole 'scandal'. For those of you who didn't get a chance to read it, here you go. (I took pics of it cos I don't have a scanner, but if you click on it, it should enlarge and you'll be able to read it. For the 2nd pic, click on it to view entire pic k!)

I think the article speaks for itself, so I don't think I'll need to comment. Have a read and see what you think about it all. Feel free (as always) to comment below.

  1. well, there's 3 contestants who complained, hmm..

    dan thompson's one of them, others, i presume are females due to the writer mentioning 'she' a couple of times. looking to th eliminated challengers, there's very few girls.

    FYI: they are, akiko/nadia, erika chen, fatema, jamila, raz, and ofc, vertical dancers and desert roses.

    among them all, vertical dancers + desert roses shouldn't be the one. Im guessing, erika chen and akiko/nadia?

    what's your take?

  2. If Simon is the judge , he will say that there is no originality at all on Jill, as she just copy someone's song and her voice also just so so.
    Do you think my assumption is correct or not?

  3. to the second anon, why should we be second guessing what another judge might/might not say? then you might as well try and guess what simon might say about all of the rest of the contenders just to see if our own judges commented fairly? Everyone has their own opinion.

    It's obvious that dan thompson is just sore about not getting in (and the other 2 are concerned if they will be judged fairly, assuming they are still in the competition, else they are also just being sore about losing).

    I think that this whole 'scandal' is actually giving Jill free publicity! haha. If Fly had previously engaged her before the show, it goes to show that she has something to offer. Despite it being out here that Jill might have known Judge I previously, I think that we should be fair to Jill and Irene and think back on Jill's performances. No doubt her 'sex on fire' wasnt impressive (and she was ranked 2nd last that night), I think she really did well on all other occasions, and we should not just brush her hard work aside.

    On Irene, I kinda agree with her comments most of the time (though I'm not a big fan of Rhythm n moves like her) so I do not think that she is biased. Plus, dont forget that there are 3 other judges who matter as well!

  4. To anon above;

    Irene agn is NEVER a fan of rhythm n moves at all... She's juz like what she saw from the 3 male dancers... So pls, watch what u're saying n open up ur eyes or ears to watch or listen... Plus, from the way u mentioned, I think u're trying to shift the focus or attn away... R u jill in fact?

  5. To the 1st anon;

    What abt the female malay-singer (i forgot her name) challenger? Or maybe even C-murdar...

  7. maybe that sand-art girl who challenged jill during the initial rounds could be guilty.. or, the other ex-contestants whom i think may be guilty of sparking this scandal are c-murda and david lin.. both may be close to jill but i guess we can all see from previous clips that they are not afraid to speak their mind.. maybe perhaps they still have that lil bit of hanging on to the 'friendship' with jill, that they didn't wish to disclose themselves.. just my guess on the guilty ones..

    nwaes, i feel that irene's not practicing bias as she does give negative critisms to jill at times.. i mean, just because they are acquiantances or friends does not mean that irene needs to be 'obliged' to show everyone that she is not biased by putting her down or anytn like that.. that will not be fair to jill.. so i think she has maintained her ethics thus far..

  8. To the anon who replied to me,

    What abt the female malay-singer (i forgot her name) challenger? Or maybe even C-murdar...

    The female malay singer, if im not wrong is Raz. She could be the, but somehow i feel it's the belly dancers, akiko & nadia, or even fatema. C-murdar is unlikely, cos the writer mentioned, 'she'.

    damn, i wanna know who's the one!

    You should be the one to 'open up ur eyes or ears listen', go and read what Irene said about RNM on this blog. If any one of the judges did not like RNM much, it would be Judge B. If you dont know your own facts, don't tell others off.
    In any case, what's the point of trying to argue if Irene liked RNM at all? I wasn't even trying to PROVE if Irene liked them or not, I was merely stating my opinion. I do not understand why you got so worked up over that statement?

    And, just because I have my own opinion and that I appear to support Jill does not make me her. Then should I go around asking all those who slam Jill down if they are Dan Thompson in disguise?

    I support Jill and it's coz I really think she has something to offer. To me personally, I saw Jill perform and I like her for her talent. Therefore whatever TNP reports does not affect my view of her. If it affected your view of her, that's YOUR opinion. I'm only stating my point of view.

  10. It's not so much a scandal as Irene and Jill got busted. Good luck to the rest of the contestants that got there fairly without falsetudes.

  11. The last part of the story by the Singapore Idol Judge said it all. "Irene should have come clean the 1st time Jill was on the show and said they were friends".

    from the way u replied, can tell that u ARE putting the blame on and shifting the attention to rhythm n moves instead!! come on man, i mean, in wad way did rhythm n moves offended u? i can repeat this, Irene Ang was NEVER a fan of them!! she was MERELY impressed with the 3 graceful (as she mentioned everytime) guys and their dances!! seriously, are all jill's supporters and fans so arrogant? i just think u all are a bunch of weirdos...

  15. I agree, it seems JMT's fans and supporters like to fame, criticise or even disrepecting other contenders esp towards Rhythm 'n' Moves and yet made themselves sound so educated and professional. Be sporting, show sportmanship and most importantly, RESPECT, if you love and for the sake of JMT.

  16. Correction to my last line: "Please post whatever that pleases you." Just so that you know that you are right about one thing: that I AM educated and 'professional' - about my English.

    And one last thing: if there's anyone I do not like on the show, it's Dan Thompson, not RNM.

  17. Well it's now over. This paper story got it right. jill and Irene rigged it all the way along.

    To anon above why don't you like Dan? Is it because he told the truth to the newspaper? Dan Thompson was one of the best on the show.

    It reads who ever the others were knew the results before it happened and Mediacorp still went ahead with letting her win. Only in Singapore, we are so controlled by our own government.

    They didn't even pretend it was up for grabs by any of the other contestants they pushed Jill all the way through the Final. Luminiq and the others had no hope.
