10 Thing You Never Knew About OMG!

Just 3 more hours to go before the LIVE show at 8pm, here's some trivia to keep you occupied.

1. Did you know that the Executive Producer for OMG! is the same woman behind the first and second seasons of Singapore Idol? That's right, Taufik and Hady were her 'babies'.

2. Jeanette Aw had signed on to be a guest judge on the show for the first 6 episodes. Meaning the panel would not have changed at all for the Survival Rounds. But she dropped out after 3 episodes, and Tay Ping Hui stepped in *swoon*

3. Producers once tried to convince Jill-Marie to perform in a dress? Oivey! Thank gawd she said 'no thank you' that would have just not been Jill right?

4. There were a lot of whispers backstage that Desert Rose Sophia and Fire Artiste Danny Koh were an item. The truth is, they both liked each other very much, but it just didn't work out.

5. Despite dropping out of the competition 2 weeks ago due to family matters, ex-Luminiq Crew member Faiz still attends every roadshow to support the boys.

6. The 3 little girls that performed with Danny on 'School's Out!', Sapphire, were actually meant to perform with Rhythm N Moves. Which is why you saw Fen and Derek in the backstage photos for that night. They were there chaperoning the girls in a way and helping Danny out with his performance.

7. Ruby and Jacob from Singapore Char Siew Baos! are an item and have been for over 2 years now.

8. The first show of the Elimination Rounds (Ep 7 Collaborations!) was meant to be recorded LIVE, but had to be pre-recorded due to internal booking discrepancies! This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because there were so many artistes and props on the show, it took quite a while to set up between acts. Had it been live, I think everyone woulda had a heart attack trying to set up during the commercial breaks!

9. If Luminiq Crew gets to the Finals, the boys would have had to work through TWO Hari Rayas for OMG!. They worked all day on Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Sept (they were at the promo shoot for trailers/photos). The finale of OMG, falls on Hari Raya Haji.

10. Due to a wardrobe miscalculation, the Desert Roses had to perform a different routine than the one they had originally planned for one of the shows. The clothes arrived just a day before the show and didn't fit! And because the costumes were central to the theme, the poor girls couldn't perform that routine. Lucky thing they had a back up plan.

Bonus trivia  :) Juz cos I love y'all so....

11. In the initial development stages for the show, other names thrown up were "Take The Stage", "Bring It On" and my personal favourite - OMFG! (One Moment of Fame and Glory!) I'm guessing OMFG didn't cut it with the censors and MDA - LOL!

12. The recording dates for Episodes 4, 5 and 6 were almost cancelled because Gurmit Singh was still recovering from severe Dengue Fever then, and doctors weren't sure if he could recover in time to meet the recording dates!

13. Producers had to raise the age limit from 16 to 17 for OMG! during auditions because OKTO's auditions for One Minute of Fame were ongoing at the same time!

Don't forget to tune in at 8pm tonight for One Moment of Glory, Live, on Channel 5. Its Fright Night tonight, so get your spook on!

  1. Sorry but just to clear up one of your facts, Faiz is still part of Luminiq Crew. He just dropped out of the show.
