A week from now, the Top 13 will kick off the next stage of the Idol competition with a bang.
The theme : Chart Toppers - any chart topping song from the year 2000 to the present.
Some background : The Spectacular stage is named as such because its meant to take the Idols to the next level. Where previously the set was small, and intimate, accompanied only with a minus one tape or pianist (hence the term 'piano show'), this next stage sees the Idols perform on a bigger, brighter, glitzier stage - you know,the stage is supposed to be spectacular! (if the sketches I saw today are anything to go by (top secret k! wasn't allowed to take pic), its gonna be awesome! go Fuji! <--set designer diva).
At this stage also, they should appear more stylish and poised as they would have 'grown' from the previous stage in all aspects from wardrobe through to performance.
This is where the real competition begins. Unlike previously, where they could sing ANY song, the Spectaculars are THEMED. Forcing the Idols to up the ante in terms of versatility, song choice and artistry (love this word! thank you Kara!).

Ok, just wanted to get the songs and phone numbers out there quick so you can all jot down the ones you're rooting for! (also cos I know y'all kaypoh and wanna know!)
Remember though, just like the trailer said, VOTE FOR TALENT. Do the show justice. Hell, do SINGAPORE justice people! Keep voting for the talent whose records you're going to buy.
Am off to work on the new profiles...am bored of the old ones now. Plus loads of vids from tonight to upload to Youtube, look out for them.

ReplyDeletekinda worried bout duane's fate on wednesday somehow... Not to say anything here but i can almost imagine how it will really turn out to be like if he sang the original version of poker face. But acoustic version of that song might save him? LOL.
